The academic year 2024-2025 for freshers will start with Orientation Programme:Satellite Campus:

ALL SF UG & PG – Wednesday, 26 June 2024 at 10.00 a.m. in the Assembly Hall, Chatrapatti.

Main Campus:

All Aided UG & PG and SF PG – Thursday, 27 June 2024 at 10.00 am in the Edward Nolting Hall, Goripalayam.

All Art SF UG – Friday, 28 June 2024 at 10.00 am in the Edward Nolting Hall, Goripalayam.

All Science SF UG – Friday, 28 June 2024 at 10.00 am in the Edward Nolting Hall, Goripalayam.

All students are asked to report at the respective department registration counter at the Flint Square between 8.00 a.m. and 9.45 a.m. Students who have paid the Hostel Fees are asked to report to the respective Hall immediately after their registration at the department counter.

Ensure you bring the following documents with photocopy:

SCIENCE EXHIBITION

The Science departments of The American College have been organizing Science Exhibition for School students of the corporation, government, government aided, Matriculation, CBSE and ISCE which are present in and around the city of Madurai, With a view to encourage, popularize and inculcate scientific temper among the school students from in and around Madurai district.

> The exhibition was arranged for three days before the start of the Half yearly examinations of the respective School boards.

> The experiments and exhibits will be displayed in three common venues namely Main hall, Auditorium and James Hall.

> The theme of the science exhibition for the academic year 2019-20 was “Popularizing Science among School Students”.

> The science departments of the College Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology along with the Food Science department of The American College displayed numerous exhibits: where the entire tour will consume 3 hours for the participants to cover.

> This year more than 6500 students from 200 schools visited the college to gain knowledge from the innovative experiments and standard specimens of the Life science department portrayed.

> Most of the exhibits unveils the subjects taught at 10 th Standard to 12 th Standard which eventually kindle the scientific temper in the students and deliver in depth knowledge in the relevant subjects

> The main purpose of this venture is to provide and develop scientific knowledge and temper to the underprivileged students in and around Madurai.

> Audiovisual shows were shown to imbibe and wider the understanding of many areas of Science like Astronomy, optics, basic theorems and laws.

> The rare pieces of life sciences like various types corals, skull of elephant types of birds different skull of python, connective link limulus, types of snakes and were the highlights of the Science exhibition.

> The science exhibition (2019-2020) was well organized by the exhibition coordinator Dr.R.Daphine , Head, (UG-S.F) Department of Physics .
