COMPUTER SCIENCE

The American College is the first institution in this region to introduce computers and computer laboratory in education even in the early seventies. The College started teaching computer courses with the advent of Apple Plus II computers, imported from the United States even before Autonomy was introduced in the college. With the grant of autonomy to the college, several application oriented courses were started. B.Sc., computer science programme was started in the year 1993. The brain behind the success of the computer science programme rests with stalwarts like Dr.R.P.Riesz, Dr.P.Pandiyaraja, who were instrumental in developing a full-fledged Laboratory and in framing the cutting edge syllabi.
