The academic year 2024-2025 for freshers will start with Orientation Programme:Satellite Campus:

ALL SF UG & PG – Wednesday, 26 June 2024 at 10.00 a.m. in the Assembly Hall, Chatrapatti.

Main Campus:

All Aided UG & PG and SF PG – Thursday, 27 June 2024 at 10.00 am in the Edward Nolting Hall, Goripalayam.

All Art SF UG – Friday, 28 June 2024 at 10.00 am in the Edward Nolting Hall, Goripalayam.

All Science SF UG – Friday, 28 June 2024 at 10.00 am in the Edward Nolting Hall, Goripalayam.

All students are asked to report at the respective department registration counter at the Flint Square between 8.00 a.m. and 9.45 a.m. Students who have paid the Hostel Fees are asked to report to the respective Hall immediately after their registration at the department counter.

Ensure you bring the following documents with photocopy:

  3. student bank account linked with Aadhar

OBJECTIVES

  • To develop global perspectives on social work and development.
  • To develop resources among the faculty and to develop physical and knowledge  infrastructure.
  • To nurture creativity, quality and efficiency.
  •  To develop productive links with National and Global actors (academia, civil   society and resource centres).
  • To organize Collaborative programs, workshops and exchanges with organizations.
  • To expose the students to multiple realities and develop empathy among them for becoming responsible social workers.
  • To train students to communicate and act using culturally diverse strategies and  tools.
  • To encourage research towards curriculum building, innovative teaching-learning    strategies and fresh perspectives. 

LIBRARY

The department has a magnificent library with special collection of latest Social Work related books (of more than 1250). The themes include Studies in Civil Societies, NGO Management, Human Resource Management and Development, Organisational studies and Developmental studies and Training Manual, Development Studies, Post Colonial Studies, Sociology, Anthropology, Media and Development Communication studies, Studies on Marginalised Groups, Qualitative Research studies, women studies, studies on Medical Sociology, Health and Mental Health, Cultural studies and Subaltern Studies etc. It also subscribes more than six national and International journals which include Journal of International Social Work, Global Social Policy, Advances in Developing Human Resources and Indian Social and Economic history Review, as well as Newspaper daily’s, Tamil and English magazines.
