The academic year 2024-2025 for freshers will start with Orientation Programme:Satellite Campus:

ALL SF UG & PG – Wednesday, 26 June 2024 at 10.00 a.m. in the Assembly Hall, Chatrapatti.

Main Campus:

All Aided UG & PG and SF PG – Thursday, 27 June 2024 at 10.00 am in the Edward Nolting Hall, Goripalayam.

All Art SF UG – Friday, 28 June 2024 at 10.00 am in the Edward Nolting Hall, Goripalayam.

All Science SF UG – Friday, 28 June 2024 at 10.00 am in the Edward Nolting Hall, Goripalayam.

All students are asked to report at the respective department registration counter at the Flint Square between 8.00 a.m. and 9.45 a.m. Students who have paid the Hostel Fees are asked to report to the respective Hall immediately after their registration at the department counter.

Ensure you bring the following documents with photocopy:

  2. Mark statement
  3. student bank account linked with Aadhar
  4. Aadhar card
  5. community certificate

Common Names: Curry Leaf Tree

Flowering Period: March – July

Description

  • Curry Leaf tree is a small or medium sized tree, most famous for its aromatic leaves that provide curry spice.
  • Curry leaves are extensively used in Southern India and Sri Lanka (for the authentic flavour).
  • It is a small tree, growing 4-6 m tall, with a trunk up to 40 cm diameter.
  • The leaves are pinnate, with 11-21 leaflets, each leaflet 2-4 cm long and 1-2 cm broad. They are highly aromatic.
  • The flowers are small white, and fragrant.
  • The small black, shiny berries are edible, but their seeds are poisonous.

 Uses  

  • Leaves are edible.
  • The leaves are used to flavour and enhance aroma in Indian curries.
  • The essential oil found in the leaves and seeds have antibacterial and anti-fungal activity.
  • Bark-paste is antiseptic, applied to skin eruptions.
  • Root extract is taken for relief from renal pain.
