Infrastructure & Facilities

The undergraduate department is housed in the Flint House with adequate number of lecture halls, a utility room, an office room, a library, and a faculty room. The postgraduate department is in the first floor of the Centenary Hall with two classrooms, a faculty room, an office room, and an M.Phil. lecture hall cum media room.

Equipments

The media room of the PG department is equipped with modern media equipments such as an LCD projector, DVD player with an advanced home theatre system, and a colour television. Two Overhead Projectors are also in use.

Library

The Department of English boasts of its two exclusive libraries (UG and PG) apart from the central library of the college. The Undergraduate department library has a collection of 2500 books. The postgraduate and research department library has a collection of more than 8500 books to its credit and it serves the students, and the researchers associated with the department. The library is accommodated in a spacious hall and the books are well catalogued. The computerized catalogue in the central library and the conventional card-catalogue in the PG library facilitate easy access to the library users. Further, the students of the department also have access to the library of the Study Centre for Indian Literature in English and Translation (SCILET).

Language Resource Centre(LRC)

Language Resource Centre offers English Language training to students, faculty, and general public who aspire to Study abroad and to immigrate to English speaking countries on work permit.
The centre offers training for International English Language Training System (IELTS Academic and General Training) , Test of English as a Foreign Language.( TOEFL), Pearson Test of English (PTE) and Cambridge English Language Tests for UK Visa.The centre has a good collection of e resources.Many of our students have successfully cleared these tests and are pursuing higher studies abroad.
