The Deployment of institutional Strategic/Perspective plan 2020-2025

STRATEGIC PLANNING AND DEPLOYMENT FOR 2020-2025

The American College, the veteran institution in Madurai that offers UG and PG programs to the masses, especially the first-generation learners, downtrodden, village and rural folks continues its much-acclaimed academic journey with its founding principles and missionary zeal in the early years of this third decade in this new third millennium.  Contusing to innovate, the college is seeking to address the pressing issues and new challenges that have cropped up in the recent times, more importantly in the post COVID era.

Even though the college has done well in latest NAAC peer review and have won recognition to be a mentor to other sister institutions that aspire for attaining college autonomy and secured the STAR college status for the aided UG programs, the college realizes the need for introducing new programs and enhancing its status by plugging loopholes. The newly adopted administrative contingency of introducing two deputy coordinators each in NAAC and IQAC, the incumbents are expected to guide the college in securing higher grading in the NIRF where the college is relatively lagging. With their initiatives, academic officers and Heads of department are expected to strengthen teaching and learning processes to international standards.

With the improved infrastructure and the newly added research and central instrumentation facilities, scientific research will be strengthened. Similarly utilizing the opportunities of partnerships with other institutions in India abroad, higher social science, language and research studies in humanities will be taken up.

Schools of Commerce and the School of Computer Science will launch new innovative programs to meet out the   mandate for which these new entities are created. Scope of research in the departments with doctoral programs will be expanded.

New programs like the B. Sc. Food science, M. Sc. food science, B. Sc. visual communication, B. Sc. Physical Education, BSc Psychology, M. Sc. Psychology, B.Com. Professional Accounting, B. Sc. Data Sciences and M.Sc. Data Science will be stabilized.

ASBA, American School of Business Administration will be revisited and revamped with more market and business attention.  Efforts will be taken to give students the money’s worth.

New courses like the UG programs in History, Fashion Technology and Biotechnology will certainly meet the contemporary demands of the community and society that the utility of the college be widened.

Efforts will be taken to find new financial resources for furthering strategic and perspective plan that the mission ideals of institution will be seriously and continually resonated.
