The academic year 2024-2025 for freshers will start with Orientation Programme:Satellite Campus:

ALL SF UG & PG – Wednesday, 26 June 2024 at 10.00 a.m. in the Assembly Hall, Chatrapatti.

Main Campus:

All Aided UG & PG and SF PG – Thursday, 27 June 2024 at 10.00 am in the Edward Nolting Hall, Goripalayam.

All Art SF UG – Friday, 28 June 2024 at 10.00 am in the Edward Nolting Hall, Goripalayam.

All Science SF UG – Friday, 28 June 2024 at 10.00 am in the Edward Nolting Hall, Goripalayam.

All students are asked to report at the respective department registration counter at the Flint Square between 8.00 a.m. and 9.45 a.m. Students who have paid the Hostel Fees are asked to report to the respective Hall immediately after their registration at the department counter.

Ensure you bring the following documents with photocopy:

  2. Mark statement
  3. student bank account linked with Aadhar
  4. Aadhar card
  5. community certificate

Azadirachta indica

 Family: Meliaceae

Common Names: Mkilifi, Neem tree, Nim tree

Flowering Period: February – September.

Description

  • Neem ,an evergreen tree that can reach 15–30 metres (49–98 feet) in height and have attractive rounded crowns and thick furrowed bark.
  • The compound leaves have toothed leaflets and are typically evergreen but do drop during periods of extreme drought.
  • The small fragrant white flowers are bisexual or staminate (male) and are borne in clusters in the axils of the leaves.

Uses

  • Flowers are used for flavour; they are bitter unless cooked.
  • Neem tree contains Azadirachtin, which have insecticidal, antibacterial, antifungal and anti-inflammatory effects.
  • Oil extracted from the seed is used to make soap, toothpaste, lotions and pesticides.
  • Timber & Products (The wood is hard and termite resistant, good for construction such as making carts, furniture, plywood and blockboard) and also used as firewood and fuel.
