About College

The American college is one of the institutions in higher education known for its focus on academic excellence and social relevance. It has played a pivotal role in the development of college autonomy in India. Its five star ranking by NAAC with Grade A+ CGPA 3.47 on a 4 point scale and it’s completion of 142 years of service to higher education bear testimony to the position the college currently enjoys. Our college has been ranked 58 in NIRF ‑ 2022,. The College offers 32 undergraduate and 20 post graduate courses in main campus and 13 UG and two PG programmes in Satellite campus. The college has NSS, NCC, SLP etc, that provide platform to students to serve the society. The college has tie‑ups with many international, state and central institutions and private industries.

About Department

The PG Chemistry program started in the year 1958 is housed in the Stoffer Hall. The Department also served as the PG extension center of the erstwhile Madras University. The alumni of the department are able to find berth as research scholars in leading research institutions of the country like IITs, IISc, NCL, CLRI, IISER and central and state Universities This has helped them to occupy pivotal positions both in academics and in industry in India and overseas. The department has also kept alive the research activities which are vouchsafed by its publications in accredited Journals. Agencies like UGC, CSIR, DRDO and DST has financially supported many conferences, minor and major projects of the department. It has also received grants under FIST. With rich experience in teaching and research, the department is focusing on enhancing chemistry education with a global perspective. With yeomen service to the academic community around, the department is conducting a two days ‘International Conference on Advances in Chemistry ICAC‑2023’ on 4 & 5 December 2023.

About Conference

The ICAC‑2023 conference aims to foster and carries collaborative interdisciplinary research in the latest technologies in the field of chemistry. This conference will attract participants with different back grounds to expose and discuss novel possibilities in the fields such as development of new therapeutic molecules, sustainable materials to be used in infrastructure, innovative strategies for chemical reactions etc. Significant advancement of contemporary research in these areas is the need of the hour for obtaining new materials, value‑added chemicals, drug discovery, food safety, management of environment etc. The aim of the event is to promote quality research and real‑world impact in an atmosphere of international association between scientists to deliberate the latest methodologies in chemistry. During the conference there will be invited lectures of eminent scientists and selected oral poster presentations. This conference offers an opportunity to young researchers in getting acquainted with emerging areas of contemporary research.

Call for Abstracts

Abstracts are invited for oral and poster presentation on the theme of the conference based on original work and not published elsewhere . The content of the abstract should be limited to one A4 size page in Times New Roman, font size 13 point for title and 12 point for the content. The soft copy of the abstract must be sent to the conference E mail: icac2023acmdu@gmail.com Only peer reviewed abstract will be published in the conference proceedings with ISBN number.
