• To make available the expertise of specialists in specified areas of knowledge.
• To give exposure to students through alternative media (theatre, film, etc.,) of communalism, discrimination and environmental degradation.
• To conduct programmes that will promote and facilitate peer learning/teaching habits among the faculty members of the department.
