The American College has a unique history in imparting personality development and leadership traits through National Cadet Corps (NCC). When the National Cadet Corps was introduced in educational institutions across India in 1952, The American College came forward willingly to introduce NCC in its Curriculum. Initially, the NCC had only the Army wing, subsequently the Naval wing was introduced in the year 1961. Presently, the Army has one unit under the command of 7(TN) Battalion Army. The Navy has two units, under the command of 2(TN) Naval, Madurai.

National Cadet Corps (NCC) Air wing in the American College comes under 3 (TN) Air Squadron (T) NCC, Tiruchirappalli. With the visionary progress of having three wings of the NCC, the Principal & Secretary developed the idea of installing the NCC Air wing under FSFS scheme in 2020. Our NCC Air Wing activities are executed with the strength of 100 Air Wing cadets (Boys and Girls) headed by Care Taker, Dr. T. Augustus Julian Lazmey. The NCC Air Wing Cadets are given the training with great enthusiasm and passion. In addition to the Regular NCC activities, Social and Adventure activities are being conducted to facilitate the process of grooming up of the future Air Force Officers.
